Can I payday loan file a complaint against me?

I received a call from a cabinet company said today payday loan was filing a lawsuit against me. I tried to give something in the past, but since I could not give them what they want, they will not work with me and now this. What should I do and do I ask for legal aid. I stay in SC.

If you have money, they can sue you and win. They are not required to accept payments that are not consistent with what you have concluded an agreement with them. You live near a Law School in SC? If yes, phone and whether they have a legal clinic that could provide a lawyer (they are usually low cost or free). Otherwise, you can contact the SC Bar Association and ask questions about lawyers working on cases pro bono. They might be able to help. Good luck
